Wes Hicks Obituary, Buffalo Gap, Texas, Wes Hicks Has Died
Wes Hicks Obituary – Stanley, Trent Deen “Stan” On the early hours of Saturday, May 12, 2012, 61-year-old Stanley “Stan” Deen Hicks gave up the ghost within the space of Trent and Buffalo Gap. Start time for the memorial service is 6:00 p.m. On Friday, May 18th, 2012, at The Red Dirt Pavilion on Pecan Street in Buffalo Gap, Reverends Rex Mauldin and Norman Patton will preside. The preparations were entrusted to Starbuck Funeral Home.
The funeral might be adopted by a last pickin in true Stan style, so buddies are encouraged to deliver garden chairs and sign up for in the birthday party of Stan’s life and love of song. Stan graduated from Trent High School in 1969. He was once born on February 15, 1951, in Merkel, Texas. In 1969 and 1970, he was once a member of the University of Texas soccer groups that gained the NCAA national championship.
Stan wed an Abilene native named Renee Rackow in 1971. After moving to Nashville, Stan pursued a profession as a musician, appearing with such legends as Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. Music was still the motive force in Stan’s existence. He was well known for his “pickins,” or intimate gatherings with his most popular performers. On his ultimate Friday night time, he did just that at the Buffalo Gap Community Center, surrounded via great country track, scrumptious BBQ, and loving friends and family.
Stan’s ultimate tune, “Silver Wings,” was a touching tribute to his family members. The Red Dirt Pavilion will proceed taking part in his songs as a tribute to him. After twenty years of teaching and coaching at AISD’s Madison Middle School, the place he had the risk to influence the lives of a lot of students, Stan announced his retirement at the end of May.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Hicks of Trent; his mother, Rojean Freeman Hicks of Trent; 3 sons, Bradley Hick and wife Heather of Buffalo Gap, Wesley Hicks of Weatherford and Thomas Hicks and spouse Britni of Abilene; his sisters, Debi Weaver and husband John of Arlington; Tammie Spitler and husband Dennis of Abilene; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsy, Trey and Layton; and plenty of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
